🕒 Preparation Time

🍞 Ingredients for Pizza Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (maida)

  • 1 tsp instant yeast

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 2 tbsp olive oil (or vegetable oil)

  • ¾ cup warm water (as needed)


🍅 Ingredients for Pizza Sauce

  • 2 ripe tomatoes (blanched and pureed)

  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup

  • 2 cloves garlic (finely chopped)

  • ½ tsp chili flakes

  • ½ tsp mixed herbs / oregano

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 tbsp olive oil


🧀 Toppings (as per your choice)

  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (grated)

  • ½ onion (sliced)

  • ½ capsicum (sliced)

  • ½ tomato (sliced)

  • Sweet corn, olives, or mushrooms (optional)

  • A pinch of chili flakes and oregano


👩‍🍳 Step-by-Step Method

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it rest for 5 minutes until frothy.

  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix well to form a soft dough.

  3. Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth.

  4. Cover and let the dough rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.


Step 2: Make the Pizza Sauce

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan, sauté garlic until aromatic.

  2. Add tomato puree, ketchup, chili flakes, herbs, and salt.

  3. Cook until thick and saucy. Set aside to cool.


Step 3: Shape the Pizza

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).

  2. Punch down the risen dough and roll it into a circle (about 10 inches).

  3. Place it on a greased baking tray or pizza pan.

  4. Prick lightly with a fork to avoid bubbles.


Step 4: Add Sauce & Toppings

  1. Spread a generous layer of pizza sauce over the base.

  2. Add grated cheese and your favorite toppings.

  3. Sprinkle a little oregano and chili flakes on top.


Step 5: Bake the Pizza

  • Bake for 15–20 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese melts beautifully.

  • Slice and serve hot!
